About UEA Security

Our mission is to provide a safe, secure and peaceful environment for staff, students and visitors to the campus and safe vehicular access to designated car parks.

UEA was voted joint 3rd for 'Good Security' out of 113 Universities in the 'Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey' in 2011 and The University of East Anglia has been voted the safest University in England three years in a row.

The UEA Security team are based in The Lodge at the top of University Drive and Chancellors Drive and work closely with community police to provide a 24-hour security cover for the University campus.

All Security Officers are trained to the highest level and are ready to deal with any situation.   They can by found around campus on foot, by bicycle, in our electric buggy and in our dedicated vehicle for fast response and patrol of outlying areas.   We have a target time of 3 minutes to attend any incidents.

All the Security Officers are First Aid trained and some are trained to First Responder Level.

First year students are given an induction talk by Security Officers, advising of the role of Security on campus and advice on how to keep safe.  To view the presentation, click here.
