Outgoing Erasmus Students

Current UEA undergraduate students have the fantastic opportunity to study at one of our European Erasmus partner institutions as part of their degree course.

Students in Stanislas, France

Under Erasmus, UEA has student exchange agreements with 76 partner institutions in 22 different countries covering 13 subject areas - List of Partners

From your second year of study onwards, you have the opportunity to spend one or two semesters (an academic year) studying at one of these partner institutions. This period abroad will be fully accredited towards your final degree and no tuition fee from the partner institution will be charged during your stay.

Eligible students can receive an Erasmus grant of around € 225 per month (€ 675 - € 2700 3 months - 12 months available grant 2011-12).
There are two categories of UEA students who can participate in the Erasmus programme:

  1. Students on a three or four year degree, where a semester or year abroad is an integral part of their degree.
  2. Students whose degree does not contain an integral study abroad placement, but who wish to spend either a semester or year of their degree abroad.

For both these categories of students, the same application process must be followed to apply for an Erasmus placement (click Outgoing Erasmus Procedures on the page). However, students without an integral study abroad period as part of their degree will need to get permission from their School Erasmus Academic Coordinator to ensure that they will meet their degree's full study requirements whilst on their placement abroad.

First year students

Now is a good time to research your opportunities abroad. You will need to apply while in your first year if you intend to participate during your second year of study. Planning ahead is highly recommended, as for some of our partner institutions, you will require a reasonable knowledge of their native language.

Our website contains all the information you will need, as well as all required Erasmus paperwork.
