We have been delighted to work with Disabled Go, an organisation based in Cambridge who provide detailed access guides to buildings and facilities.
Their team visited UEA in late 2009 to work with our Estates team in reviewing buildings across the campus.

Our Disabled Go pages provide us with a guide for students, staff and visitors enabling you to plan for visits, study and work to take account of the layout of our campus and existing facilities around the campus. The information is useful both for those with disabilities or health conditions to take into account while they are out and about, or those who accompany and/or support disabled people. The idea is simple: the more you know about the place you are visiting the easier it is to plan or find solutions in advance where needed.
The site is clear and easy to use. There is a menu to the right of the screen from which you can choose which part of the campus you need to know about. From there you are presented with symbols summarising what is included in the areas of choice and next to each set of symbols is the choice to 'View Access Guide'. This takes you to detailed information of the selected area including photos of specific access points.
Before looking at the DisabledGo information you might want more information about how to use the site effectively - for example, a range of twenty symbols is used to show facilities - so the site includes a section on Using this Site. As well as definitions about the symbols there's information about other ways of searching the site to the right of the screen in the How to Use section. Be aware that if any symbols are filtered out/'turned off' you may miss information and so best advice is to keep all symbols in place until you are familiar with using DisabledGo.
If you have any special requirements or think you may have difficulty accessing any part of a building or facility here please contact us to discuss solutions and how we can help.
