Biography

I am a Lecturer in Macroeconomics of Ecosystems at the University of East Anglia. My research is mainly in the field of macroeconomic impact assessments of environmental (including climate change) policies. This work involves developing large-scale energy-environment-economy models that in addition to macroeconomic effects (changes in GDP, sectoral output, employment, trade, etc) allow researchers to assess changes in energy demand and atmospheric emissions.

I was PI for the UK National Ecosystem Assessment WP2 ‘Macroeconomic implications of ecosystem service change and management’ that aims to establish foundations for the future research in this field. Previously I have led and participated in various research and consultancy projects funded by the UK Government Departments, HEFCE, European Commission and UN agencies.

I joined UEA in January 2013 from the University of Cambridge where I worked as a Senior Research Associate. I am part of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research (coordinator of Economic Analysis). I have a PhD in Applied Macroeconomics, MPhil in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge, BSc in Economics and BSc and MA in Biology. Prior to my MPhil, I worked for a number of years in the private sector as project manager and managing director.
