LGMAC Logos
The lgmac logo is in various formats for different uses: The logo was re-created in freehand - a design package that uses vector graphics. This means that the information in the image is stored as what is effectively a mathematical formula rather than information about what colour each pixel should be. For this reason it is totally scalable to any size.

| Good for any on-screen use eg. web, power point etc. The information in these files is stored as pixels of color so it cannot be enlarged too much without looking spiky. A huge version is included (3000 pixels wide or thereabouts) that could be shrunk down as necessary to any size using photoshop/photo editor etc. These gifs have been anti-aliased by freehand AND photoshop so they should look nice and smooth on screen. Unlike jpegs, there is a different and non-lossy kind of compression in .gifs, so you don't get those funny colour distortions around the edges of areas of one colour. | |
| A pdf file that is saved straight from freehand. This reserves the scalability of the logo. However, acrobat's anti-aliasing and vector graphics scaling is much better than .emf/word's, so for any large printout the .pdf file is probably the best one to use. |
