Research Interests: Perceptions of climate change, public and stakeholder participation.

Irene is currently based at the Centre for Environmental Risk (CER) where, as part of the Understanding Risk Programme funded by the Leverhulme Trust her research focuses mainly on perceptions and institutional aspects of global climate change. (see www.uea.ac.uk/env/cer/index.html)

Before joining CER, Irene worked for CSERGE on the development of future scenarios to frame research on climate impacts in the UK and decision-making at national and regional policy levels; on energy and waste management; and on integrated coastal zone management in the East Anglian region.
