The Blinks project forms part of the Cam-era research system. Cam-era is a system of video and/or High Speed Digital Cameras (HSDCs) that are used to monitor coastal environments. The system was developed in New Zealand by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research. To date there are 12 analog Cam-era stations (all in New Zealand) and eight digital stations (all at Lowestoft, UK). Click here to visit the Cam-era web page.

Video imaging techniques for coastal monitoring & measurement were pioneered by Rob Holman and Oregon State University. Their system, known as Argus, has been used worldwide.

Our images also appear on WaveChaser. WaveChaser is a web site for surfers in the Norfolk (& now Suffolk) area.

You can visit the web sites of our project partners: The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science - CEFAS; Waveney_District_Council; and the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NZ) - NIWA.

We are also grateful to the Hotel_Victoria, Lowestoft, for housing our two new cameras (see Lowestoft Images)
