I have always enjoyed working with children and wanted to have a career in helping to inspire children's learning.

I wanted to work with primary children in the lower age range of the school so chose the Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 option. I came to UEA for my PGCE year as it is well known as one of the best educational training universities. It is a great place to study and everyone was so nice. Moving overseas, (from N. Ireland) I was worried, but I settled in so well.

The course involves lots of hard work and many different interactive workshops which were fun and I have made great friendships although there is much more paperwork to do than for an undergraduate degree and many more lecture hours. The key skills I have gained are determination, hard work, confidence, patience and great communication. Being on school placement was a fantastic experience and was the best part of the course. I enjoyed working with children and practising the teaching methods which I will use in my own teaching.

The tutors are fantastic support and are excellent to approach if you need help.
