Fred obtained a Diploma in Education Science (Dip. Ed) at Kenya Science Teacher College (KSTC) in Kenya in 1988 and later obtained a Bachelor of Education Science Degree (B.Ed Sc.) at Moi University in Kenya in 2000. I obtained a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Teaching and Curriculum with emphasis in mathematics at Syracuse University in the US, where I received an award of best Master research Thesis in education. Between 1988 and 2003, I taught mathematics and physics in high schools in Kenya. Between 2003 and 2013, I taught in-serviced teachers of mathematics from Kenya and Sub-Saharan African countries at the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) based in Kenya. From 2013 to date I am a lecturer, though on study leave from 2014, at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) in Kenya.

Fred is interested Mathematics Education area of Research particularly on pedagogical issues in mathematics teaching and learning. My research study is in the Teaching and Learning of Quadratic expressions and equations through Problem Solving Strategy in Kenyan Secondary Schools’ Classroom: A Learning Study Design.
