Professor Norris' current research interests include the history, theory and practice of educational research and evaluation, the history of the curriculum reform movement and education and training in the professions.

Professor Norris' teaching duties have included the range of research methodology and theory courses within the Centre for Applied Research in Education. He has taught on the full and part time MA, Ed.D and PhD programmes. His undergraduate teaching has focused on the social construction of childhood.
