The School offers a range of full and part-time research programmes.
Our degrees have been designed to meet the needs of individuals working in an educational setting - to aid progression in the local, national, and international educational environment whilst drawing on the expertise within the School and its Research Centres.

Research Degrees:
The School offers the following research degree programmes:
- MRes Social Science Research Methods (one year full-time, two years part-time)
- Master of Arts by Research (one year full-time, two years part-time)
- Master of Philosophy (two years full-time, or four years part-time)
- Doctor of Philosophy (three years full-time, or six years part-time)
- Doctorate in Education (minimum of four years part-time).
The periods indicated for each degree represent the period of study, after which, in the case of all degrees, there is one year of Registration Only time if required in which to write up and submit the thesis.
