UEA is the leading academic centre for Focusing Studies in the UK. Our programme includes courses at all levels from introductory to doctoral level studies.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling includes a Focusing component that runs throughout the course, integrating Focusing into a professional training in Person-Centred Counselling.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Focusing-Orientated Psychotherapy is a professional training for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who wish to extend their expertise into the field of Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy.

Doctoral work in focusing studies can be undertaken at UEA. Current doctoral work is being undertaken in the fields of:

* focusing-oriented couple therapy
* focusing-oriented therapy for clients with alcohol-and drug-related problems
* focusing-oriented psychotherapy and shamanic practices
* experiential and conceptual investigation of change processes in the Western magical traditions 

UEA will be the academic home in Europe for the extensive collection of Eugene Gendlin’s published and unpublished writings: the Gendlin On-Line Library.
