Experimental Economics Scholarships (full fees)

In recognition of the School's research excellence in and commitment to Experimental Economics, we offer two scholarships equal to full UK/EU fees to students taking the MSc Experimental Economics. We especially welcome applications from those intending to pursue an academic career.

Any applicant (whether UK/EU or international) who has received an offer on the MSc Experimental Economics by 15 April 2013, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary. 

These scholarships cannot be cumulated with other UEA or Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) scholarships. If you are applying for the MSc Experimental Economics but do not get this scholarship, you will still be eligible for a School Focus Scholarship (see details below).


Industrial Economics Scholarships (full fees)

In recognition of the Centre for Competition Policy and the School's commitment to Industrial Economics, we offer two scholarships equal to full UK/EU fees to students taking the MSc Industrial Economics. We especially welcome applications from those intending to pursue an academic career.

Any applicant (whether UK/EU or international) who has received an offer on the MSc Industrial Economics by 15 April 2013, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary. 

These scholarships cannot be cumulated with other UEA or Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) scholarships.

If you do not get an Industrial Economics scholarship and you are interested in the MSc in Industrial Economics, you will still be eligible for a School Focus Scholarship (see details below).


School Focus Scholarships (up to 50% fees)

School Focus Scholarship may be offered to any student taking one of three MSc degrees:

For the six most promising candidates, this will cover 50% of your fees, and all other candidates will be considered for a £1000 scholarship. These scholarships cannot be cumulated with any other UEA or ESRC scholarships. They are available to both UK/EU and international students; if you are an international student, the scholarship will take the form of an International Scholarship of £1,000.


China Agricultural University (CAU) Scholarships

In view of the ongoing constructive discussion between UEA and China Agricultural University, the School will consider offering up two international scholarships equal to 50% fees to academically outstanding applicants from China Agricultural University who have received an offer on the MSc Economics, MSc Experimental Economics or MSc Industrial Economics and who have an average mark of at least 85%. These scholarships cannot be cumulated with other UEA scholarships.

Any eligible applicant who has received an offer on the MSc Economics, MSc Experimental Economics or MSc Industrial Economics by 15 April 2013, will be considered for this scholarship. No separate application is necessary.


Fudan University Scholarships

In view of the collaborative agreement signed between UEA and Fudan University in 2007, the School will consider offering one full fee international scholarship to an academically outstanding applicant from Fudan University who have received an offer on the MSc Economics, MSc Experimental Economics or MSc Industrial Economics and who have an average mark of at least 85%. These scholarships cannot be cumulated with other UEA scholarships.

Any eligible applicant who has received an offer on the MSc Economics, MSc Experimental Economics or MSc Industrial Economics by 15 April 2013, will be considered for this scholarship. No separate application is necessary.


Scholarships and Bursaries Specific to Current UEA Undergraduates

School of Economics Internal Bursaries:

  • An International Scholarship of £1,000 will be automatically assigned to all international students currently taking a UEA undergraduate degree, and who are accepted onto any Master's degree course offered by the School of Economics.
  • An Internal Bursary of £1,000 will be automatically assigned to all UK/EU students currently taking a UEA undergraduate degree, and who are accepted onto any Master's degree course offered by the School of Economics. 
    These awards are a contribution towards fees only, and cannot be cumulated with other UEA or ESRC scholarships

International Scholarships 

We offer International Scholarships to well qualified applicants. These are typically £1,000 per year. Applicants who are offered £1,000, and who receive an offer by 15 April 2013, will also be considered for a larger scholarship equal to 50% of international fees (ie over £4,000).

The UEA International Office also offers bursaries to postgraduate taught students.
