Biography
Stefania is in her 4th year of her PhD. Her research focuses on two main different areas: experimental economics with particular attention to industrial organization issues and methodology. She has explored how complexity affects consumers’ choices in experimental markets. Now she is analysing how past prices affect subjects’ behaviour and how this may or should affect firms’ pricing strategies. Stefania is also interested in experimental methodology. In particular she asks how experiments contribute to increase our knowledge of economic phenomena focusing on that particular class of experiments that test economic models. She is supervised by Daniel John Zizzo in the experimental part of her PhD and by Robert Sugden in the methodological discussion. With Daniel John Zizzo she has published in Theory and Decision “Does Products Complexity Matter for Competition in Experimental Retail Markets?” which is also one of the chapters of her PhD thesis whose title is “Essays on products complexity and methodology”.
Key Research Interests
My research interest is mainly in experimental and behavioural economics. I am currently focusing on how complex adversity affects consumers’ and firms’ behaviour. This is done using experimental methods and quantitative analysis.
