We are pleased to announce the start of the autumn 2011 Contemporary Economic Issues Lecture Series on Monday 10th October 2011.
Creating a successful business career in today’s economic environment
By Angus Penman Monday 10.10.2011, from 6pm, the TPSC Lecture Theatre
This introductory talk of the 2011_2012 Contemporary Economic Issues lecture series addresses the challenges of a business career, informed by Angus Penman’s experience of over twenty years in the financial services. Angus started out with an internship in manufacturing finance while a student at the UEA, followed by a position in international investment banking at Midland Montagu and complemented by an MBA at the Warwick Business School. Angus joined MML Capital in 1993, where he was involved in sourcing, analysing, investing, managing and serving as a board member. He became a Managing Director in 1996. By the time he left MML Capital in 2002, the company had invested over US$1 billion of institutional capital in over 60 companies across Europe and the US.
Angus has further founded Oregon Capital Partners (OCP), in 2002. The company invests in and acquires companies across a range of industries and geographies, primarily from large corporates, private equity groups and banks. In addition, OCP invests in growth companies and start-ups when these are seen to be in a unique position to build a valuable business.
Angus is a graduate of the University of East Anglia, where he obtained a BA (Hons) in International Politics and Business.
