Professor Bruce Lyons is providing the independent academic input in a public Round Table on Reform of the UK’s Competition Regime to be held at City University on Friday 20th January 2012. Other members of the panel are the current Chairman of the Competition Commission, the Chief Economist of the OFT, an eminent QC member of the Competition Appeals Tribunal, and the European Competition Policy Director of a leading consultancy. Provisional government proposals for reform included major institutional changes, which were discussed by Professor Lyons at his Contemporary Economic Issues public lecture at UEA last October. The government’s final decision has been controversially long delayed but is now imminent.
