Student Conduct and Dealing with Harassment

These pages are still under construction and further content will appear over the forthcoming months.

In all instances of student misbehaviour, bullying or harassment, students should seek advice, help and support from the Dean of Students' Office as soon as possible.

The Dean of Students' Office can also offer advice to staff on supporting students who have raised concerns about bullying and harassment, and on dealing with mis-conduct in the teaching environment.

Students who are concerned that they are subject to bullying or harassing behaviour are advised to read through the University's Guidelines for Students on dealing with Harassment.

If you live in UEA residences and you are being adversely affected by the conduct of others, whether through anti-social or bullying behaviour, your first point of call would be your Senior Resident.  If the Senior Resident is unable or unsuccessful in helping you, please make an appointment to see the Senior Resident Tutor in the Dean of Students' Office, on 01603 59 2761.

If you live in off-campus housing and you are being adversely affected by the conduct of others, whether through anti-social or bullying behaviour, your first point of call would be the Student Services Manager, Jill Brown, who can be contacted on 01603 59 2491.

All students at UEA are subject to the Student Charter and University General Regulations.  Students in Residences are also subject to the Terms and Conditions of their Licence to Occupy Residential Premises.  Students who appear to be in breach of the Charter, Regulations, Harassment Guidelines, and Licence Terms and Conditions may be subject to proceedings under the University Disciplinary Procedures.

All instances of non-Academic Discipline should be reported to the Senior Resident Tutor, Dr David Thurkettle, in the Dean of Students' Office for investigation and consideration under section 2.3.3. of the University Disciplinary Procedures http://www.uea.ac.uk/calendar/section3/regs(gen)/disciplinary-procedures/sectiona).  An appointment can be made with the Senior Resident Tutor through the Dean of Students' Office reception on 01603 59 2761.
