Why do we have a complete an Enhanced DBS Disclosure?
Many of our courses require students to take part in placements involving vulnerable groups and/or children and by nature of the role you will be performing an Enhanced DBS Disclosure is required to allow you access to complete these placements.
How long does an Enhanced DBS Disclosure take to complete?
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) aims to process all applications within 4 weeks of receipt. Once completed a copy of the Disclosure will be forwarded to your current address and should be retained.
What email address do we use to contact you?
We will use personal email addresses for all applicants who are yet to commence their course. All current students will be contacted via their UEA email address.
What happens if any offences are shown on my Enhanced DBS Disclosure?
Each school of study has its own policy for dealing with any offences which are highlighted in an Enhanced DBS Disclosure. A very limited number of staff are made aware of the results in order for them to make a decision relating to your admission or continuation on the course.
Can you request a duplicate copy of an Enhanced DBS Disclosure?
Once an Enhanced DBS Disclosure has been issued a copy will be sent to us and the registered body and also to you at your current address which should be retained. In the event that your copy does not arrive you may contact the DBS on 0870 90 90 811 within 93 days.
How do I know when to start my DBS Disclosure?
You will be contacted automatically via email with instructions about completing the application process. We receive details from Admissions and the Learning and Teaching Service (LTS) with the names of those where a Disclosure is required as part of the course.
What is the website address to complete the DBS Enhanced Disclosure?
You will need to visit www.uea.disclosures.co.uk and then when prompted log in using the user name and password sent to you via email.

Is there any other ways to make a payment for my DBS Disclosures other than by Credit or Debit Card?
Unfortunately, we can only accept card payments for DBS Disclosures and therefore cannot accept any other payment methods (i.e. Cash or Cheque).
Can you accept photocopies of identity documents in place of the originals?
Unfortunately, as part of the DBS checking process, we must see the original documents you are using to support your application and we cannot deviate from this under any circumstances.
What documents can be accepted to verify my identity?
We can only accept certain documents in order to verify your identity. A list can be downloaded by Clicking Here.
Where is the Student Disclosure Service located?
We are located in Room 2.30, Elizabeth Fry Building on the main university campus (Building 11). A campus map can be downloaded by Clicking Here.
Our normal office opening hours are Monday-Friday – 10.00am – 4.00pm.
