The precarious state of the Hall in 2010 meant that the School underwent emergency relocation to less than ideal accommodation provided by the Blackdale Building, a former primary school at the edge of UEA campus.
We intend to repair the Hall, Bothy Building and Courtyard area in a £5M project:
- Significantly improving the Law School accommodation by refurbishing Earlham Hall completely, providing an inspirational setting for our law students
- Re-developing the courtyard to provide space for students and staff to meet informally and to provide academic staff with office accommodation
- Establishing a Community Law Clinic close to a relatively deprived area of Norwich, where students can provide free advice and learn their craft through public service
