We believe that every able student who wishes to go on to university should be given the opportunity to do so – no matter what their social background. We remain committed to be socially inclusive attracting the best and brightest minds delivering the most able and talented graduates to the employment marketplace
What if we stopped pioneering the fight against disease?
The Difference we've made
- We have already made a difference to over 100,000 students who have passed through our doors, having enjoyed a student experience second to none. Our students are of paramount importance to us, which is why we are proud the National Student survey places UEA joint fourth mainstream English university – with an overall satisfaction score of 91 per cent. For teaching itself, the only universities to outperform UEA were Oxford and Cambridge.
- Scholarships and bursaries have enabled many students to experience life and higher education at UEA. As with many of our alumni, they have gone on to lead, pioneer and make a difference in their respective fields.
The further Difference we'll make
With the additional support to be raised through 'The Difference' Campaign we will:
- Create 250 undergraduate scholarships and 250 postgraduate scholarships over the course of this campaign, starting in 2013 for our 50th anniversary.
- Provide inspiring facilities for our researchers, lecturers and students ensuring that the environment for learning is fit for a thriving modern university.
- Refurbish the historically significant Earlham Hall to create a high quality environment that allows students to be inspired by outstanding surroundings.
'The Difference' Campaign will see scholarships become central to UEA's culture and to generations of students to come. The philanthropy that this campaign invites will enable the University to continue to improve in quality, to add value to the student and academic experience, and to ensure that during our 'second' 50 years we produce great minds to face the great challenges ahead.
With your support, we will award the first undergraduate and postgraduate 'Difference' Scholarships in 2013, the University's 50th Anniversary.
