Our main activities include:
Research – enhancing understanding of development and refining research tools (particularly in the fields of, environmental change; gender and social development; globalisation and transition, livelihoods and wellbeing).
Professional Development and Short Courses - offered in a broad range of development studies areas e.g. monitoring and evaluaiton; climate change; gender and development; economics for development, sustainable rural livelihoods approaches and analysis. We run scheduled and customised courses, reading weeks or other formats as required.
Consultancy - development policy advice, strategies and action plans (particularly poverty reduction, sectoral, regional and country strategies) and project cycle management (identification, preparation, implementation, impact assessment) and dissemination of findings.
