How CSED can help you
Our courses are designed to meet the need for both information and skills development and most are informal and participative in style. We also fund staff to allow them to attend appropriate external courses, within the guidelines laid down in the staff development and training policy.
We offer seminars and events on teaching methods, course design and teaching skills, research and scholarship and various aspects of university management, training for appraisers and appraisees, personal and professional development, guest seminars on aspects of learning, teaching and educational management, and workshops on problem solving skills, time management and presentation skills. These are complemented by a wide range of IT courses in support of all manner of computer-based activities.
If something you are interested in doesn't appear in the programme, or you are interested in commissioning a course, please contact us.
If you manage staff
As well as looking through our programme with a view to your own training and development, you may also find it helpful to keep in mind the training needs of your staff. Apart from helping to set the context for a discussion of training needs during your appraisal meetings with staff, the contents of the programme can help with forward planning the training of all staff in whom you have a managerial interest.
