Technology Demonstrations

Details: These informal sessions focus on a single technology or tool per week. They provide an opportunity to see the technology demonstrated and to ask any questions.  The sessions can also be used by those already familiar with the highlighted technoloy for problem resolution, questions or for investigating new areas of the technology demonstrated.  You can also use these sessions, time permitting, to talk about any other matters relating to learning technology.

There is no need to book, and you can turn up at any point during the hour.

Elluminate - Friday 10 July, 12.30-13.30
Elluminate is an online teaching and meeting tool on trial at UEA until 31st July 2010.

Audience Response Systems - Thursday 16 July, 12.30-13.30
Students responsd to handheld 'clickers' to questions posed as part of a PowerPoint presentation in lectures, seminars or tutorials, the results of which are immediately displayed as a graph.

Blackboard - Thursday 23 July, 12.30-13.30
UEA has the Blackboard Learning System and the Blackboard Community System.  The Learning System is where the Blackboard module sites for teaching are held.  The Community System provides the same sites but for organisations e.g. clubs, societies, committees, research groups, networks and working groups etc.

TurnitinUK - Thursday 30 July, 12.30-13.30
TurnitinUK is web-based plagiarism detection software in use at UEA.
