The University Counselling Service is keen to offer students the opportunity to learn Mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness has been shown to offer many benefits to practitioners including helping to deal with stress and anxiety. Mindfulness is a way of paying attention, deliberately, to what is going on in and around us in the present moment. Mindfulness practice uses both discreet meditations, such as a breathing meditation, as well as incorporating mindfulness into everyday life. An example of Mindfulness Practice, a body scan meditation, can be found here:
An information leaflet about Mindfulness is also available to download.
