
The University Counselling Service is offering four group sessions for students who may be experiencing stress and anxiety but who do not require individual counselling at the moment. The sessions will explore a variety of techniques used in Mindfulness based approaches to wellbeing.
Mindfulness can help us:
· develop inner resources to cope with stress, anxiety and depression;
· cope with difficulty and experience a greater sense of calm and wellbeing;
Each session will last one hour and will include time for practice and brief discussion. Students will benefit from attending all the sessions and places will be offered based on a commitment to attend all 4.
Dates: Weekly on Wednesdays beginning April 17th – May 8th.
Time: 2.00-3.00pm
Place: Counselling Service Annexe, Suffolk Terrace, C.
No. of attendees: 10 maximum.

Mindfulness practice uses both discreet meditations, such as a breathing meditation, as well as incorporating mindfulness into everyday life. An example of Mindfulness Practice, a body scan meditation, can be found here:
