The Matthew Project provides counselling, advice, information and support services for those in need, especially those with problems relating to drug misuse or alcohol abuse, with the aim of improving their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. In particular, The Matthew Project provides free, confidential, 'no-strings-attached' help for people with a drug problem (including an alcohol problem)
Asperger Syndrome
Asperger East Anglia is a local charity offering advice, information and support services for people with Asperger Syndrome and their families.
Eating Disorders
Norfolk Eating Disorders Association (NEDA)is a local charity for people who have problems with eating. They help with anorexia and bulimia and compulsive or binge eating, as well as offering help with problems around eating before a full-blown eating disorder develops. Amongst other things they have self-help groups and drop in sessions, and can offer advice about counselling. The Eating Disorders Association is now known as B-eat. They provide information about eating disorders and treatments as well as support for sufferers and carers. They offer helplines and on-line support via email. You can contact B-eat on 0845 634 1414 between 10.30am - 8.30pm Mon - Fri. For people under 18 years old, there is a Youthline: 0845 634 7650 between 4pm and 8.30pm Mon - Fri and 1pm - 4.30pm Sat. Gay, Lesbian and Bi-sexuality
Norfolk: BLAH is part of The Norfolk Area LGB Project working together since 2007 to provide social & peer support groups for young gay, lesbian, bisexual people or those questioning their sexuality from 14-25yrs old. http://www.blahyouth.co.uk/
Samaritans
The Samaritans provide confidential emotional support to those experiencing distress or despair, including feelings that may lead to suicide. The local telephone number is 01603 611311 and they are open 24 hours. Personal callers can drop in at 19 St Stephen's Square, Norwich between 07.30 - 22.30.
Rape and Sexual Abuse
Norwich Rape Crisis offers help for survivors of sexual abuse or rape, recently or in the past. They provide help through counselling, support or information for women effected or friends and family. Telephone 01603 667687 on Tuesday 19.00-21.00 and Friday 12.00-14.00. Norwich Rape Crisis is a member of the Rape Crisis Federation.

Young Persons' Clinic - Tuesday (under 25) 17.00-19.00 and Saturday (under 20s) 10.00-12.00 noon - no appointment necessary. Open access drop-in clinics held every day (except Sunday). Genito-Urinary Medicine Clinic (GUM), Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Grove Road, Norwich, Norfolk. Open Monday & Thursday 9.00-18.00, Tuesday & Wednesday 9.00-17.00, Friday 9.00-16.00. Telephone 01603 286308/286307 to book an appointment. The GUM clinic offers confidential specialist services including information, advice, counselling and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, HIV testing and counselling.The GUM clinic is completely confidential - you do not even have to give your real name if you don't want to. It is open access and no referral is needed.
