Over the past few decades counselling has moved in to the mainstream and there is an increasing understanding that the use of its inherent skills and attitudes can widen our view of the world and the way in which we relate to people. The programme of courses we are offering this year includes our popular Certificate courses in Counselling Skills and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Skills which have given many people access to learning and encouraged them to open up new avenues for personal and professional development.
These Certificate courses can also be used as a foundation for those who are interested in professional training courses at postgraduate level available at UEA and elsewhere. There are a number of different training routes available. The Academic Director for Counselling and the course tutors will be happy to discuss training options with you at any stage of your learning to help you find the best options to suit your personal and professional needs.
"I remember the certificate course as challenging but really enjoyable. I felt I gained such a lot in a very supportive environment, and ultimately the course acted as a spring board for me to pursue counselling as a profession. Several years on I have not looked back. I now have an MA in Counselling, am working as a counsellor and supervisor in private practice and most recently have returned to the UEA as a course tutor for the post graduate diploma in counselling"
