60 credits over 1 year (CCE) or 120 credits over 2 Years (CHE)
If you are an East of England Ambulance NHS trust employee and are contractually obliged to complete this course or are a qualified technician that wishes to progress to paramedic, please go to the Trust intranet for further information in the first instance.
The Certificate in Continuing Education (CCE): Emergency Medical Care (60 credits) is available to anyone with an interest in medicine and is the first year of the 2-year Certificate of Higher Education (CHE): Emergency Medical Care (120 credits).
The second year and the full Certificate of Higher Education is only available to health practitoners, due to the very practical nature of the content.
The principal aim of the Certificate of Higher Education: Emergency Medical Care is to provide the level of training and education necessary for modern emergency medical care providers to become confident and effective practitioners. A key focus of the course is the application of a sound theoretical base to enhance the student's clinical decision making abilities and to develop sound techniques of patient assessment and clinical care. All tutors are health care professionals or subject specialists.
