Working in Groups (BA Professional Studies)
Groups and teams are a major feature of organisational life. Whatever you wish to achieve in your working environment will be achieved by working with other people. Drawing on new ideas or alternative perspectives is often the only way to solve intractable problems – this is when effective group-working comes into its own. This module will facilitate your development in identifying, understanding, acquiring, practising and implementing the skills that will stay with you throughout your professional life. The module begins by looking at the complex nature of human behaviour and how this translates into a greater appreciation of behaviour and activity within a group situation, and then examines the role reflection as a powerful tool in professional development. Finally we will consider the importance and impact of ICT (Information Communication Technology) in the workplace.
