Biography

Dr Dan Smith is Lecturer in Computing Sciences at the UEA, Norwich.

He has authored over 40 papers; he is a member of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the IEEE Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery.

Career History

Dan worked as an archaeologist and conservation projects manager, he also worked as a freelance programmer and consultant before joining UEA.

 

Academic Background

He obtained a BA (Nottm) in Geography and for his Ph.D. he investigated the representation and manipulation of spatial and temporal data in database systems.
