SS01:Nature and biologically inspired computing for Medical and Industrial Applications

The medical services and industry requires new technologies, to assess information objectively. While recent developments in medical engineering have been achieved by state-of-the-art of intelligent computing techniques including developments in computational techniques including nature and biologically inspired ones, information processing and data mining hold new premises in this field. These methods are becoming indispensable for industrial and medical practices.

The scope of this special session covers the following nature and bio-inspired models and related techniques and their industrial and medical applications:

Relevant intelligent techniques:

  • Evolutionary Computing
  • Swarm intelligence
  • Neurocomputing
  • Immunological Computing
  • Hybrid Methods
  • Intelligent Agents and Agent Theory
  • Other topics

The application fields

  • Decision Support . Process and System Control
  • System Identification and Modelling
  • Telecommunications
  • Consumer Electronics
  • Signal or Image Processing
  • Vision or Pattern Recognition
  • Condition Monitoring
  • Fault Diagnosis
  • Systems Integration
