The School of Computing Sciences runs an active seminar series with both external and internal speakers. In addition, there are a number of more focused seminar series associated with the research laboratories.
Seminars are normally held in the D'Arcy Thompson Room. Our postgraduate research students are encouraged to take an active role in the organisation of research seminars, from chairing sessions through to presenting their own research.
Other research events during the year include the annual CMP Postgraduate Day, at which research students present their work and compete for Best Paper and Best Poster awards, and the CMP Research Afternoon, an open house event in which our researchers engage with researchers from the wider community across UEA and the Norwich Research Park.

Knowledge Discovery and Datamining (KDD) is the non-trivial process of identifying valid, novel, understandable and potentially useful patterns in data.
