Welcome to the UEA Scale-space Group. Our interests are quite wide-ranging (and include systems that do not use scale space) but our main developments have centred around a class of non-linier scale-space processors called Sieves. These processors are quick to compute and have been used for a wide variety of tasks including lip-reading, non-photorealistic rendering, saliency computation, image retrieval, medial vision and many others. Our work has been used in commercial systems and has found application in a variety of areas.
A sieve tree can be parsed to find stable salient contours
