Virtual Urban models are fundamental to a variety of applications ranging from virtual tourism to urban planning. Traditional approaches for the reconstruction of virtual environments involve labour intensive modelling using interactive software for both modelling and image editing. This research investigates techniques for automating the modelling process.

Crowd Simulation and Rendering
Crowds of people can be an impressive spectacle and are often employed effectively by films to convey occasion and grandeur. Although posing a unique set of challenges, bringing crowds to the real-time domain can greatly enhance the perceived realism of a virtual environment.
Cultural Heritage
Virtual Environments have commonly been used for the dissemination, education and public awareness of cultural heritage. However, interactive virtual environments have yet to be fully utilised ...
Understanding the Mechanical Properties of Proteins
A considerable amount of information is known about a proteins static geometric structure. Proteins however are not static entities and are in fact molecular machines that are involved in every biological process. Protein dynamics is relatively unstudied subject ...
Virtual Dentistry
This project focuses on the techniques of probing, deforming and cutting three dimensional volumetric objects for a virtual dentist training simulator. Using a haptic (force) feedback device the sense of touch can be incorporated enabling the user to feel the resistance of cutting or drilling through virtual objects.
