The University of East Anglia was ranked third of all mainstream British universities, after the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, for student satisfaction as conducted by the National Student Survey 2010.
In the same survey, the School of Computing Sciences was ranked fifth of all mainstream English universities jointly with computer science departments of the Universities of Cambridge and York.
In the latest (2003) teaching quality assessment made by the government quality assurance agency (QAA) the school was awarded the highest score of “commendable” in all four categories. Our degree programmes are accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) and the National Student Survey of final year students puts us ninth in the country.
In the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), 65% of our output was judged to be “world-leading” or “internationally excellent”. Our current research income is approximately £6m, from Government Research Councils, EU, industry and charities.
