Science takes over Norwich

On Wednesday 26th October, Chemistry took over the Forum in Norwich as part of the two week Norwich Science Festival. Volunteers from UEA and members of the Royal Society of Chemistry helped around 1600 visitors through 10 hands on activities throughout the day with support from local company Briar Chemicals.

Visitors were treated to a wide range of stalls including making their own rainbows and atomic biscuits, while older visitors were able to make their own spectroscope and have a go at using the research grade Infrared and Ultraviolet spectrometers from the Spectroscopy in a Suitcase programme. Dr Stephen Ashworth also filled the auditorium with performances of his ever popular Kitchen Chemistry show.

If you didn’t make it, we hope to see you next year!
