Prof David Andrews elected as one of SPIE's Society Directors
At a major Optics and Photonics symposium in San Diego earlier this month, The International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) 2015 President Toyohiko Yatagai made an announcement of the SPIE election results. Professor David Andrews is one of four newly elected Society Directors, to serve for three years commencing 2016. David has worked with SPIE for many years, most recently as Chair of its Symposia Committee.
SPIE is a charitable-status educational organization to advance light-based science and technology. The Society serves nearly 264,000 constituents from approximately 166 countries, offering conferences and published proceedings, continuing education, books, and journals. SPIE provided more than $4 million in support of worldwide education and outreach programs in 2014.
