School Position:  Senior Lecturer; Natural Sciences Course Director; Director of the Centre of Physics in Science, and Science with a foundation year admissions co-ordinator.


Martin is a chartered physicist and member of the Institute of Physics. Following a first degree in physics and chemistry, Martin gained a masters degree in research methods/management and also a PhD at UEA.

Martin joined the School of Chemistry in 2000 as a part-time research fellow and part-time teaching fellow. Alongside these roles Martin carried out consultancy work for other university departments, a government agency, TV companies and publishers.

Martin now works as a full-time Senior Lecturer and teaches modules in physics, astrophysics, maths and professional development. He also works with the Institute of Physics as a member of their degree accreditation group and their degree recognition group. 

Martin is the first director of the Centre of Physics in Science here at UEA.  The main aim of the centre is to promote physics teaching and research across the Norwich Research Park and to heighten interest in physics in the surrounding area.  He is also Course Director and Teaching Director for the range of Natural Sciences degrees at UEA.  Further information can be found at www.uea.ac.uk/sci/natsci.
