Here is a list of useful directories and other resources. We stock most of these titles; however, if you can't get to UEA, you may find these publications in local libraries.

  • Association of Charitable Foundations contains online information about grant-making trusts and charitable organisations
  • AAUW. Fellowships and grants for US and International Women
  • British Legion
  • Charities Digest provides details and information for over 5,000 organisations. Not only does it contain contact names and registration number for each entry; it also includes useful sources of legal advice. Bank details for charities are also included where applicable
  • Directory of Grant Making Trusts
  • Family Action (was the Educational Grants Advisory Service). Guidance and advice on funding for those studying in post-16 education in the UK
  • Grants for History
  • The Grants Register. This is primarily intended for students at or above graduate level who require further professional or advanced vocational training. It covers international awards and is of relevance to all nationalities. Useful information is accessed via a complicated subject index
  • Grants Online
  • A Guide to Grants for Individuals in Need. These are mostly organisations who give grants to the 'socially needy'. Worth looking at, as the criteria for a grant is sometimes loosely specified
  • Hotcourses is a guide to funding undergraduate and postgraduate study by subject and awarding body
  • IEFA (International Educational Financial Aid)
  • Money Matters (Gwenda Thomas) contains general information on coping with finance as a student. Chapters on other sources to tap and sponsorship are worth reading
  • Postgrad Solutions
  • Prospects Postgraduate Funding Guide 
  • Scottish Educational Endowments is administered by the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS)
  • SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association)
  • Turn to Us contains information about benevolent funds, grants and charitable trusts
  • University Scholarships and Awards contains information on funding from universities and professional bodies for home and international students with subject-specific and country indexes
