We hope these pages will give you some idea of the types of employers based in the region.
One way of researching the local labour market is to look at likely employment sectors, or industries. However, remember that about half of all graduate-level jobs are open to graduates from any discipline and that many occupations may be found in many sectors, so don't make the frequent mistake of pigeonholing yourself from the start. For instance, financial specialists can be found in marketing firms and marketing specialists can be found in financial organisations. Nevertheless, some occupations are clearly concentrated in particular sectors (eg: teaching in education) whilst employers will expect you to have some understanding of the sector they're working in.
