UEA Careers Centre provides advice, data and active assistance to schools and departments in enhancing graduate employability, increasingly at the top of student priorities when selecting a university course and a key performance indicator for most university league tables. We are keen to develop our relationships across the university, so please get in touch should you wish to discuss issues relating to student or graduate employment.

New Destinations Explorer Website


We have recently launched the beta version of our new Destinations Explorer website, with employability statistics for each school, plus details of graduate destinations.

GENE Graduate Employment ForumGENE Employer Forum


Founded in 2008, GENE is the bi-monthly Employer Forum for Higher Skills in Norfolk, led by UEA, comprising employers, business network representatives, academics and support staff from HE institutions in Norfolk. The forum meets regularly to discuss a range of issues affecting higher-level skills, employability and the local economy. The forum also links to the higher-skills group of the Norfolk Employment and Skills Board and influences career and employability provision within UEA.

Faculty Guide to Developing Student Employability

The Faculty Guide to Developing Student Employability is intended as a practical resource for School and Faculty staff aiming to improve the employability of their students. Based on the UEA Employability and Progression Strategy, it identifies activities that Schools of Study, the Careers Centre and students themselves can undertake.

Alumni Career Case Studies

We are working closely with the Alumni Office to initiate case studies of alumni careers, including videos of UEA graduates working in China, locally in East Anglia, and nationally in the in the legal sector. The Chinese case study pilot was funded by the Prime Minister's Initiative.
