With our high level of innovation in research and teaching it's not surprising that UEA produces graduates of an equally high calibre. However, it's not just our strong academic reputation that equips our students for the world of work. We provide an environment that provides graduates with the knowledge, skills, experiences and values which today's employers demand. The work of the Careers Centre combines with top quality teaching and wider opportunities provided at a campus university to give UEA students an excellent start to their careers and make them a sought-after commodity for graduate employers.
UEA Careers Centre
UEA has a lot to offer its students and, through them, a great deal to offer employers. Getting employers involved in life at UEA is probably one of the most useful ways of helping students get ready for their working life. At the same time, able and enthusiastic graduates with trained and disciplined minds are one of the most important assets for many businesses. We are always looking for ways in which the Careers Centre and businesses can help each other. We offer a range of services and facilities to support the needs of local, national and international employers, including small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary organisations. Visit Events & News for a list of events and fairs run by the Careers Centre.
We are always happy to discuss your needs. If you have a query that is not covered here please do contact us.
GENE
Founded in 2008, GENE is the bi-monthly Employer Forum for Higher Skills in Norfolk, led by UEA, comprising employers, business network representatives, academics and support staff from HE institutions in Norfolk. The forum meets regularly to discuss a range of issues affecting higher-level skills, employability and the local economy. The forum also links to the higher-skills group of the Norfolk Employment and Skills Board and influences career and employability provision within UEA.
