Final Report to the Teacher Training Agency
July 2001
The pedagogical dimensions of student disaffection from learning were the overall focus of the cross-school consortiums research work funded by the Teacher Training Agency. Disaffection was broadly defined as disengagement from learning to include the quietly disaffected as well as the more obvious behaviours of disrupting lessons and missing school. Evidence that the consortium considered relevant was the relationship between disaffection and teaching strategies used in schools. The following pages provide a summary of findings. The full final report can be downloaded separately.
