Anti-fibrotic Ocular Therapies

Dr Michael Wormstone, of the University of East Anglia, has developed novel, targeted treatments for post-operative fibrotic disorders of the eye. Our first technology offers suppression of post-operative fibrotic disorders via inhibition of certain motor proteins.

Human Ophthalmic Model

Researchers at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have developed a robust and comprehensive human model system for the eye. This system, involving both cell lines and whole tissue explants, has been successfully used to test and validate ophthalmic and pharmaceutical compounds up to the standards of FDA approval.

Dysphagia Solutions

Our experts are undertaking research to develop a material within which tablets can be placed to make them easier to swallow, thereby removing the need to crush the tablet. A paste like material which does not react with medicines and their coatings whilst reducing in tackiness when entering the mouth to ease swallowing were identified as appropriate characteristics.
