A great campus

UEA campus is just a couple of miles from the vibrant centre of Norwich. Though, with the students union providing such a fantastic range of bars, venues and entertainment you might wonder why anyone would ever venture off campus. The 320 landscaped acres of campus also boast superb sports facilities, a great range of shops and cafes and the internationally renown Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, not to mention some striking 1960s architecture.

If you want to critically assess a place, then ask the students! The National Student Survey ranked us 3rd for overall satisfaction out of 73 Biological Sciences institutions. In fact students love UEA in general! Thanks to its excellent teaching, wide mix of courses, fantastic campus and idyllic location the university as a whole came top in the 2006 National Student Survey and is consistently ranked in the top five mainstream English Universities.

Norwich is a fantastic city - steeped in history but packed with all the trappings of a vibrant modern city. Whether you like clubbing with your mates, art house cinema, quiet real ale pubs or blockbuster multiplexes, you will find something to suit you. The city is also ranked in the UK's top 5 shopping destinations! Alternative enjoy the great outdoors! Some of the most beautiful natural areas of the UK are on our doorstep - including the famous Norfolk coast and the meandering broads.
  Great career opportunities

Typically each year, about a third of our graduates continue into the higher degrees of MSc or PhD, and a recent survey of our students revealed that more than 80% of those with good degrees were working in biologically-related jobs. Overall, 97% of our recent graduates are in employment. So if you are willing to put in the effort, we will give you the career opportunity.
