RESEARCH in the ARTS AND HUMANITIES RESEARCH in the ARTS AND HUMANITIES

We are proud of our vibrant and diverse research culture, and our internationally recognized research excellence. The 2014 Research Excellence Framework rated over 75% of our research as world leading or internationally excellent. Many departments in the Faculty are ranked in the top 10 nationally for the power and quality of their research. In 2015/16, our Research Income from grants exceeded £4.6m, with awards from Research Councils UK (including Arts and Humanities Research Council, Economic and Social Research Council, and Natural Environment Research Council), the European Research Council, British Academy, Leverhulme Trust, Wellcome Trust, and many other sources.

We also pride ourselves on the stimulating, imaginative, and collegial learning environment we share with our postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers. We support innovative research across the Faculty and beyond through our interdisciplinary research projects and centres, and our cutting-edge approach aims to focus work in new areas. We hope you enjoy exploring the research of our excellent individual Schools and departments.
