UEA owns and maintains 41 two-bedroom, centrally-heated houses, to let to students who have children. Many of these houses are on campus, and all properties are within easy access of schools, shops, public transport and other amenities.
To be eligible to apply for a Family House, you must be a full-time UEA student with dependent children. First year international students are given priority, but students from the UK and returning students may also apply.
We only offer housing to confirmed students. If you are offered a Family House, you are eligible to renew your tenancy each year, until you complete your course. As we have limited houses, students who have lived in a family house for one course of study and then move onto a further course of study will not normally be able to stay in the house for the second course. The Student Union will assist in finding a house in the private sector.
As we have a limited number of family houses, we regret that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer one. We will do our best to help, so we would encourage you to apply. We strongly advise international students not to arrange travel for your families unless you are certain you have somewhere to live.
Family Housing is for students who have their own children. Part-time and Registration Only students are not eligible for University accommodation.
