Shopping

The city of Norwich has an excellent mix of independent stores, small specialist shops and major high street chains. Norwich is the only location in the UK outside of London to house 4 national department stores. It is also host to England's largest permanent six-day market.

With everything from modern shopping centres to pretty medieval cobble-stoned lanes and alleys, it’s no wonder that it was voted one the top ten places to shop in the UK.

Norwich has two excellent shopping malls Chapelfield & Castle Mall. The recently opened Chapefield has over 90 shops and restaurants with the only House of Fraser and Apple Store in the region. Recently opened stores include Ark, Ask, Yo Sushi, Hollister and Superdry.

Norwich Lanes offers one of the UK’s best selection of independent shops, bars and restaurants. There are loads of specialist and lifestyle shops, including fashion boutiques, quirky craft designers, vintage clothing outlets, second hand book dealers, antiques merchants and many more. There are also regular craft fairs, collectors fairs and flea markets.

The recently refurbished Norwich Market is unique in Britain and has over 190 stalls. You'll be amazed at what you can find – from essential food stalls like the fishmongers, butchers, cheesemongers and spice man to second hand records, books, clothes and even foam cut to measure. The market is full of character and a great place to seek out bargains and oddities.
