Places available for elite athlete scheme

Following the resounding successes of Paralympics GB and Team GB the recently-launched Norfolk Sports Academy (NSA) has re-opened applications to its elite athlete support scheme and five spaces are available to athletes living in Norfolk.

NSA offers a comprehensive package including financial assistance, support workshops, sport services, mentoring, access to Sportspark training facilities and branded sports kit.

Phil Steele, Chairman of NSA and Director of Sport at the University of East Anglia (UEA), said: "The dedication, commitment and outstanding effort and performances of GB's athletes is truly inspiring and we hope that, with the support of NSA, more local athletes will be able to focus on 2020."

The scheme, which was launched in May will run annually from September, has already selected nine elite Norfolk athletes. The second application round invites top-level athletes (ranked top 10 or in a representative team in their home country) who live in Norfolk and are aged over 18 to apply.

Full eligibility criteria, an application form and all scheme details can be found on the NSA website. Applications run from 19th - 30 September 2016.
