    (Dorothy Furniss was a great fan of aesthetic dancer and artist Paul Swan (1883-1972). She visited him many times at Studio 90, Carnegie Hall, when he lived there in the 1940s. At least one letter from her to Swan is in Swan's scrapbook at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota Florida.)
